In Sneezing and runny nose due to allergies : Rupakast Tablet is used to treat an itchy, stuffy or runny nose, sneezing, or other symptoms caused by seasonal hay fever (allergic rhinitis). It works by reducing certain substances in the body called histamines that are responsible for the allergic symptoms. It also reduces swelling inside the nose and thus decreases symptoms such as stuffy nose. This helps in easy breathing and makes you feel better.

How to use Rupakast Tablet Follow your doctor's guidance regarding the dose and duration of this medication. Ingest it without breaking or crushing. Do not chew, crush or break it. Rupakast Tablet can be taken it with or without food, although it's advisable to take it consistently at the same time.

How Rupakast Tablet works Rupakast Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Rupatadine and Montelukast, which treats sneezing and runny nose caused due to allergies. Rupatadine is an antiallergic which blocks the action a chemical messenger (histamine) responsible for runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist. It works by blocking the action of another chemical messenger (leukotriene). This reduces inflammation (swelling) in the airways and nose, and improves symptoms.

Alcohol

Caution: It is important to consult your doctor regarding alcohol consumption while taking Rupakast Tablet .

Pregnancy

Rupakast Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Doctor consultation is advised.

Breast feeding

Information regarding the use of Rupakast Tablet during breastfeeding is not available. Doctor consultation is advised.

Driving

Rupakast Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

Kidney

There is limited information available on the use of Rupakast Tablet in patients with kidney disease. Doctor consultation is advised.Because of the limited information, use of Rupakast Tablet is not recommended in patients with kidney disease.

Liver

Rupakast Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment of Rupakast Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised.Limited information is available on the use of Rupakast Tablet in these patients. No dose adjustment is recommended in patients with mild to moderate liver disease.

If a dose of Rupakast Tablet is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.

Store in a cool and dry place, and keep the temperature below 30�C

You have been prescribed Rupakast Tablet to help relieve symptoms of allergy such as runny nose, sneezing, watery eyes, and cough. Be cautious�while driving or doing anything that requires concentration as Rupakast Tablet can cause dizziness and sleepiness. Do not drink alcohol while taking Rupakast Tablet as it may cause increased sleepiness. Dry mouth may occur as a side effect. Frequent mouth rinses, good oral hygiene, increased water intake and sugarless candy may help. Stop taking Rupakast Tablet at least three days before taking an allergy test as it can affect the test results.
