It is advisable to continue taking it as long as it is prescribed even when you feel better, to make sure that all bacteria are killed. Stopping it early may make the infection come back and difficult to treat.

How Mountrim Tablet DT works Mountrim 800mg/160mg Tablet DT is a combination of two antibiotics: Sulfamethoxazole and Trimethoprim. These antibiotics work by preventing the bacteria from producing folic acid, a nutrient required for bacterial multiplication. Together, they treat your infection effectively.
Consult your Doctor: Please consult your doctor regarding the safety of consuming alcohol with Mountrim 800mg/160mg Tablet DT . Experts have not found evidence of alcohol impairing the effectiveness of the medicine.
Mountrim 800mg/160mg Tablet DT is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Doctor consultation is advised.
Mountrim 800mg/160mg Tablet DT is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.There may be a possibility of skin rash in the baby.
