Follow your doctor's guidance regarding the dose and duration of this medication. Ingest it without breaking or crushing. Do not chew, crush or break it. Kofcold Tablet can be taken it with or without food, although it's advisable to take it consistently at the same time.
Kofcold Tablet is a combination of four medicines: Caffeine, Chlorpheniramine Maleate, Paracetamol, and Pseudoephedrine, which relieves common cold symptoms. Chlorpheniramine is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and antipyretic (fever reducer). It blocks the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that are responsible for pain and fever. Caffeine increases the effectiveness of paracetamol and decreases sleepiness caused by diphenhydramine. Pseudoephedrine is a decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels providing temporary relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose.
Unsafe: Avoid consuming alcohol with Kofcold Tablet as it is deemed unsafe.
Seek medical advice from your doctor: Kofcold Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Doctor consultation is advised.
Safe when prescribed by an expert: Kofcold Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Not Safe: Kofcold Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Safe when prescribed by an expert: Kofcold Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Kofcold Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Doctor consultation is advised. Use of Kofcold Tablet may cause excessive sleepiness in patients with end stage kidney disease.
Caution Advised: Kofcold Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Kofcold Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised. However, the use of Kofcold Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease and active liver disease.
If a dose of Kofcold Tablet is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.
