Common cold

In Common cold : Colrest Tablet is a combination medicine that effectively relieves symptoms of the common cold, such as a blocked nose, runny nose, watery eyes, sneezing, and congestion or stuffiness. It helps loosen thick mucus, making it easier to cough out. It also shrinks the blood vessels and provides rapid relief that lasts for several hours. These actions make breathing easier. Colrest Tablet is safe and effective. It usually starts to work within a few minutes, and the effects can last up to several hours. Take it as prescribed by your doctor, and do not stop using it unless you are advised otherwise.

The majority of side effects typically do not necessitate medical intervention. and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Colrest Tablet is a combination of four medicines: Caffeine, Chlorpheniramine Maleate, Paracetamol, and Pseudoephedrine, which relieves common cold symptoms. Chlorpheniramine is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and antipyretic (fever reducer). It blocks the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that are responsible for pain and fever. Caffeine increases the effectiveness of paracetamol and decreases sleepiness caused by diphenhydramine. Pseudoephedrine is a decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels providing temporary relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose.

Alcohol

Unsafe: Avoid consuming alcohol with Colrest Tablet as it is deemed unsafe.

Pregnancy

Seek medical advice from your doctor: Colrest Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Doctor consultation is advised.

Breast feeding

Safe when prescribed by an expert: Colrest Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

Driving

Not Safe: Colrest Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

Kidney

Safe when prescribed by an expert: Colrest Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Colrest Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Doctor consultation is advised. Use of Colrest Tablet may cause excessive sleepiness in patients with end stage kidney disease.

Liver

Caution Advised: Colrest Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Colrest Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised. However, the use of Colrest Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease and active liver disease.

If a dose of Colrest Tablet is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.

Store in a cool and dry place, and keep the temperature below 30�C

Colrest Tablet is prescribed to get relief from symptoms of common cold. Take exactly as directed by your doctor or on the label. Do not increase the dosage or take for longer than is recommended. Inform your doctor if you are taking any other medications for cold. Call your doctor if your symptoms have not improved within seven days of treatment or if you develop a fast, pounding, or uneven heartbeat, severe dizziness or anxiety, severe headache, fever, or rash. Inform your doctor if you are taking any antidepressants. Along with taking Colrest Tablet do the following simple tips at home to get relief:Steam inhalation�Gargling with warm saltwater.Apply vapor rubs on chest, back if needed. Take enough rest.Take warm food and fluid only. Ensure adequate fluid intake.Advise hygiene measures to reduce spread: frequent hand-washing, avoiding sharing towels, pillowcase, etc.
