• Swallowing: Shake the bottle well before use, measure the dose with a proper spoon or cup, and take it orally with or without food.
• Avoid Overuse: Do not exceed the recommended dose or frequency, as overuse can cause serious side effects like drowsiness, high blood pressure, or heart problems.
• Duration: Use the medicine short-term to relieve symptoms, usually for 3–7 days, and consult a doctor if symptoms persist or worsen.

Drug–Food Interactions are generally minimal, but certain foods and beverages may affect its action.

• Alcohol should be kept away, as it can increase drowsiness caused by chlorpheniramine and may increase the sedative effect, making activities like unsafe driving.
• Caffeine containing drinks may reduce the effectiveness of phenylephrine, as caffeine can counteract its decongestant effect.
• Foods high in tyramine (like aged cheeses or processed meats) should be consumed cautiously, as phenylephrine is a sympathomimetic and could slightly raise blood pressure. Maintaining a balanced diet and adequate hydration helps optimize the medication’s effectiveness and reduces side effects.

• Sedatives, sleep medicines, or alcohol: Increased drowsiness
• MAO inhibitors: Risk of serious interactions
• Other cold or cough medicines: Risk of overdose due to duplicate ingredients

• High Blood Pressure or Heart Disease: Phenylephrine can raise blood pressure and increase heart rate, so use with caution in patients with hypertension, heart disease, or arrhythmias.
• Glaucoma: Chlorpheniramine may increase eye pressure, which can worsen glaucoma.
• Thyroid Disorders: Phenylephrine may aggravate hyperthyroidism by stimulating the cardiovascular system.
• Diabetes: Phenylephrine can affect blood sugar control, so diabetics should monitor glucose levels closely.
• Prostate Enlargement (BPH): Phenylephrine may worsen urinary retention in men with an enlarged prostate.
• Asthma or Respiratory Disorders: Chlorpheniramine can thicken respiratory secretions, and dextromethorphan may suppress necessary cough reflexes, so caution is advised.
• Seizure Disorders: Dextromethorphan may lower the seizure threshold in susceptible individuals.
• Patients with any of these conditions should consult a doctor before taking this syrup to ensure safe use and to discuss potential alternatives or dose adjustments.

Dosage depends on age and condition, generally for adults and children over 12 years is 10 ml orally, 3 times a day. For children 6–12 years, the dose is 5 ml orally, 3 times a day.Follow your doctor’s instructions strictly.

Overdose may cause extreme drowsiness, confusion, fast heartbeat, or breathing difficulty. Seek emergency medical help immediately.

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip it. Do not take two doses at once.
