In Skin infections Sebagard Cream is a combination of medicines used to treat skin infections caused by microorganisms such as bacteria and fungi. It works by killing and stopping the growth of infection causing microorganisms, thereby clearing the infection and relieving the symptoms. It also blocks the release of chemicals that cause symptoms such as itching, redness and swelling. Therefore this medicine relieves the inflammation due to these infections. You should use this medicine for as long as it is prescribed, even if your symptoms disappear, otherwise they may come back. Depending on the type of infection you are treating, this may be several weeks. Even after your skin is completely cured, you may have to apply it occasionally to prevent the symptoms from returning.

Sebagard Cream is a combination of four medicines: Beclometasone, Gentamicin, Clotrimazole and Clioquinol (Iodochlorhydroxyquin) which treat skin infections. Beclometasone is a steroid medicine. It blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy. Gentamicin is an antibiotic which kills bacteria by preventing synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Clotrimazole is an antifungal which stops the growth of fungi by preventing them from forming their own protective covering. Clioquinol (Iodochlorhydroxyquin) is an antibiotic with additional antifungal action. It works by preventing the growth and multiplication of the both bacteria and fungi.

Pregnancy

If a dose of Sebagard Cream is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.

Store in a cool and dry place, and keep the temperature below 30�C

It may take several weeks to show its action. Keep using it as suggested by your doctor. Wash your skin with a mild cleanser and pat it dry before applying Sebagard Cream. Apply it as a thin layer onto clean, dry, unbroken skin affected by an infection. It may cause minor burning, stinging or irritation when applied. Inform your doctor if this does not go away. Avoid contact with your eyes, nose or mouth. Rinse it off with water if you accidentally get the cream in these areas. It is advisable not to touch or scratch the infected area as it can worsen the situation.
