Meniere's disease

In Meniere's disease Ménière?s disease is a disorder of the inner ear that causes severe dizziness (vertigo), ringing in the ears (tinnitus), hearing loss, and a feeling of congestion in the ear. This is due to build-up of fluid in the inner ear. Otolanz PV Tablet reduces the amount of fluid and prevents symptoms from developing. It may take a couple of weeks before you notice any improvements but keep taking it, even if you do feel better, until your doctor advises it is safe to stop.

The majority of side effects typically do not necessitate medical intervention. and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Doctor consultation is advised if they persist or if you're worried about them. ['Upset stomach, Indigestion, Weight gain, Rash, Headache, Flushing (sense of warmth in the face, ears, neck and trunk), Nervousness, Abnormality of voluntary movements']

Follow your doctor's guidance regarding the dose and duration of this medication. Ingest it without breaking or crushing. Do not chew, crush or break it. Otolanz PV Tablet can be taken it with or without food, although it's advisable to take it consistently at the same time.

Otolanz PV Tablet is a combination of five medicines: Betahistine, Vitamin D3, Ginkgo Biloba, Piracetam and Vinpocetine. Betahistine improves blood flow in the inner ear which reduces the pressure of excess fluid in the inner ear. Vitamin D3 is added as it's deficiency may be a cause of Miniere's disease. Ginkgo Biloba and Vinpocetine increase blood flow to the brain and protect it from damage by harmful chemical substances (free radicals). Piracetam works by further protecting the brain and nervous system against shortness of oxygen and also affects various channels on nerve cells.

Alcohol

Caution: It is important to consult your doctor regarding alcohol consumption while taking Otolanz PV Tablet .

Pregnancy

Seek medical advice from your doctor: Otolanz PV Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Doctor consultation is advised.

Breast feeding

Seek medical advice from your doctor: Information regarding the use of Otolanz PV Tablet during breastfeeding is not available. Doctor consultation is advised.

Driving

Not Safe: Otolanz PV Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive. Otolanz PV Tablet may cause drowsiness and shakiness. This may affect your driving ability.

Kidney

Safe when prescribed by an expert: Otolanz PV Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Otolanz PV Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Doctor consultation is advised.

Liver

Safe when prescribed by an expert: Otolanz PV Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Otolanz PV Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Doctor consultation is advised.

If a dose of Otolanz PV Tablet is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.

Store in a cool and dry place, and keep the temperature below 30�C

Otolanz PV Tablet is used to treat Meniere's disease (inner-ear condition that causes dizziness). To be taken with or after food to avoid indigestion. Visit the emergency department if you accidentally take too much of this medicine and symptoms such as tiredness, inability to urinate, dry mouth, fast heart rate, sweating, headache and dizziness occur.
