In Treatment of Hypertensive emergency Labetol Injection blocks the effect of some chemicals on your heart and blood vessels. This slows down the heart rate and helps the heart beat with less force thereby lowering your blood pressure. This medicine is injected into a vein under the supervision of a doctor. It is used for immediate reduction of very high blood pressure (hypertensive emergency). A controlled blood pressure reduces the risk of having a heart attack, stroke, or kidney problems.
Side Effects
The majority of side effects typically do not necessitate medical intervention. and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Doctor consultation is advised if they persist or if you're worried about them.

How it works
Labetol Injection is an alpha and beta blocker. It works by slowing down the heart rate and relaxing blood vessels which makes the heart more efficient at pumping blood around the body.
Unsafe: Avoid consuming alcohol with Labetol Injection as it is deemed unsafe.
Seek medical advice from your doctor: Labetol Injection may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Doctor consultation is advised.
Safe when prescribed by an expert: Labetol Injection is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Not Safe: Labetol Injection may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Safe when prescribed by an expert: Labetol Injection is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Labetol Injection is recommended. However, talk to your doctor if you have any underlying kidney disease. Regular monitoring of blood pressure is recommended for better dose adjustment.
Caution Advised: Labetol Injection should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Labetol Injection may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised.
