Fycompa 2mg Tablet belongs to a class of medicines known as antiepileptics. It is used to treat epilepsy (seizures) in people who have repeated seizures (fits). It helps reduce the frequency of seizures that affect a part or whole of the brain. Fycompa 2mg Tablet is taken by mouth with or without food. However, it is advised to take it at the same time each day, preferably before going to bed. Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor as it has a high potential of habit-forming. If you have missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember it. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Do not stop taking it suddenly without talking to your doctor as it may increase seizure frequency. Some common side effects of this medicine include fatigue, anger, nausea, and balance disorder (loss of balance). It may also cause dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. This medicine may cause weight gain and to control it, you should have a balanced diet and exercise regularly. It is important to inform your doctor if you develop any unusual changes in mood or depression as it may lead to suicidal thoughts. Before taking it, you should tell your doctor if you have kidney problems, depression, or suicidal thoughts and if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. You should not breastfeed while taking this medicine. Alcohol may increase the risk of seizures and worsen the side effects such as drowsiness and dizziness. Avoid alcohol while taking this medicine. Your kidney function may need to be tested often while taking this medicine.

Epilepsy/Seizures
In Epilepsy/Seizures Fycompa 2mg Tablet slows down electrical signals in the brain which cause seizures (fits). It can also help reduce symptoms such as confusion, uncontrollable jerking movements, loss of awareness, and fear or anxiety. The medicine can allow you to do some activities that you would otherwise be forbidden or scared to do (such as swimming and driving). It can take a few weeks for this medicine to work (because the dose has to be increased slowly) and during this time you may still have seizures. Do not stop using this medicine even if you feel well until your doctor advises you to. Missing doses may trigger a seizure.
The majority of side effects typically do not necessitate medical intervention. and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Doctor consultation is advised if they persist or if you're worried about them. Fycompa 2mg Tablet is an antiepileptic medication. It prevents seizures in patients with epilepsy by blocking a receptor in the brain known as the glutamate receptor, thereby suppressing the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain.
Alcohol
Unsafe: Avoid consuming alcohol with Fycompa 2mg Tablet 7 Tablet as it is deemed unsafe.
Pregnancy
Seek medical advice from your doctor: Fycompa 2mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Doctor consultation is advised.
Breast feeding
Seek medical advice from your doctor: Fycompa 2mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Driving
Not Safe: Fycompa 2mg Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.
Kidney
Caution Advised: Fycompa 2mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Fycompa 2mg Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised. Fycompa 2mg Tablet should not be used in patients with severe liver disease.
Liver
