How to use Betalax Tablet Follow your doctor's guidance regarding the dose and duration of this medication. Ingest it without breaking or crushing. Do not chew, crush or break it. Betalax Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.
How it works
How Betalax Tablet works Betalax Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Alprazolam and Propranolol. Alprazolam is a benzodiazepine. It works by increasing the action of GABA, a chemical messenger which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in brain. Propranolol is a beta blocker which blocks the action of certain chemical messengers on the heart and blood vessels. This reduces heart rate, blood pressure, and strain on the heart.
Unsafe: Avoid consuming alcohol with Betalax Tablet as it is deemed unsafe.
Betalax Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Doctor consultation is advised.
Betalax Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Betalax Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.Betalax Tablet may cause visual disturbances, hallucinations, fatigue, mental confusion, dizziness or tiredness. This may affect your driving ability.
Betalax Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Betalax Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Doctor consultation is advised.

What if I forget to take it?
If a dose of Betalax Tablet is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.
