Xtra Denser M 2 5mg Tablet 30s] is a versatile medication primarily used to promote hair regrowth and, in its oral form, to manage severe high blood pressure. As a vasodilator, it works by widening blood vessels to improve blood flow. When applied topically, it revitalises hair follicles and extends the hair’s growth cycle to treat pattern baldness. When taken orally, it reduces peripheral vascular resistance to lower blood pressure. It is available in over-the-counter topical solutions or foams and as prescription-only oral tablets.
Xtra Denser M 2 5mg Tablet 30s] (Minoxidil) belongs to a class of drugs known as potassium channel openers and peripheral vasodilators. Originally developed as an internal treatment for hypertension, its unique side effect of stimulating hair growth led to its widespread use in dermatology.
For hair loss, Xtra Denser M 2 5mg Tablet 30s] is applied topically to the scalp. While its exact mechanism in hair regrowth is not fully understood, it is believed to act by dilating the small blood vessels in the scalp, improving microcirculation to the hair follicles. This shifts follicles from the resting phase (telogen) into the active growth phase (anagen) and increases the size of the follicles, resulting in thicker hair strands. It is highly effective for androgenetic alopecia (hereditary thinning) but requires consistent, long-term application to maintain results.
In its oral form, Xtra Denser M 2 5mg Tablet 30s] is a potent antihypertensive. It acts directly on the smooth muscles of the arterial wall to reduce blood pressure. Due to its potency and the risk of significant side effects like fluid retention and rapid heart rate, oral Minoxidil is typically reserved as a "last-line" treatment for resistant hypertension that has not responded to other medications. Whether used for hair or heart health, Xtra Denser M 2 5mg Tablet 30s] should be used under appropriate medical guidance to monitor for systemic absorption and cardiovascular impact.
Xtra Denser M 2 5mg Tablet 30s] may be indicated by your doctor for:
For the treatment of hereditary hair loss or thinning at the vertex (top of the scalp) in both men and women.
As a peripheral vasodilator for resistant high blood pressure that has not responded to other standard treatments.
To assist in the regrowth of hair in patchy autoimmune hair loss.
To support the survival of transplanted grafts and stimulate surrounding native hair.
Sometimes prescribed for beard or eyebrow thickening under dermatological supervision.
Xtra Denser M 2 5mg Tablet 30s] may provide benefits such as:
Fluid retention (swelling of feet or ankles)
Always consult your doctor if you notice any persistent or concerning reactions while using Xtra Denser M 2 5mg Tablet 30s].
Use Xtra Denser M 2 5mg Tablet 30s] exactly as directed by your doctor based on the prescribed form.
Topical Form (Hair Loss):
Oral Form (Hypertension):
Xtra Denser M 2 5mg Tablet 30s] works through vasodilation and potassium channel modulation.
In the scalp, it acts as a potassium channel opener, which hyperpolarises the cell membranes. This leads to the relaxation of vascular smooth muscle, dilating the capillaries. Improved blood flow brings more oxygen and nutrients to the hair follicles, stimulating them to move from the resting phase into the growth phase. It also appears to prolong the anagen phase, allowing hair to grow longer and thicker before falling out.
In the blood vessels (Systemic), it acts directly on the resistance vessels (arteries) to relax them. By reducing the resistance the heart must pump against, it lowers the overall systemic blood pressure.
Not recommended during pregnancy. Topical use should be avoided unless strictly necessary.
Minoxidil passes into breast milk. Use with caution and only under medical supervision.
Topical use does not affect driving. Oral use may cause dizziness; avoid driving if you feel lightheaded.
Oral Minoxidil is metabolised by the liver. Use with caution in patients with hepatic impairment.
Generally safe, but oral doses may require adjustment in patients with significant renal failure.
Alcohol can worsen the blood-pressure-lowering effect, increasing the risk of dizziness or fainting.
A topical overdose is unlikely but can lead to increased systemic absorption, causing dizziness or a fast heart rate. Accidental ingestion or an oral overdose is a medical emergency that can cause severe low blood pressure. If you suspect an overdose, seek emergency medical help immediately.
If you miss a dose, apply or take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one. Do not apply extra solution or take double the tablets to make up for a missed dose.
