In Hypertension (high blood pressure) Twinblok Trio Tablet ER relaxes the blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily around your body. It also eliminates excess water from the body and increases urine output. This lowers your blood pressure and reduces your risk of having a stroke, a heart attack, or kidney problems in the future. You do not usually feel any direct benefit from taking this medicine, but it works in the long term to keep you well. You should take it regularly as prescribed for this medicine to be most effective, even if you feel better.

The majority of side effects typically do not necessitate medical intervention. and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Twinblok Trio Tablet ER is a combination of three medicines: Chlorthalidone, metoprolol and cilnidipine. They work by different mechanisms to provide better control of blood pressure when single or dual therapy is not effective. Cilnidipine is a calcium channel blocker which works by relaxing blood vessels while metoprolol is a beta blocker that works specifically on the heart to slow down the heart rate and reduce blood pressure. Chlorthalidone is a diuretic which removes extra water and certain electrolytes from the body via increased urination. Over time it also relaxes blood vessels and improves blood flow.

Alcohol

Unsafe: Avoid consuming alcohol with Twinblok Trio Tablet ER as it is deemed unsafe.

Pregnancy

Driving

Kidney

Caution Advised: Twinblok Trio Tablet ER should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Twinblok Trio Tablet ER may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised. Use of Twinblok Trio Tablet ER is not recommended in these patients.

Liver

Caution Advised: Twinblok Trio Tablet ER should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Twinblok Trio Tablet ER may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised.

If a dose of Twinblok Trio Tablet ER is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.

Store in a cool and dry place, and keep the temperature below 30�C

Twinblok Trio Tablet ER is prescribed to reduce high blood pressure and the risk of future heart attack and stroke. It can make you feel dizzy for the first few days. Rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down for a long time. Twinblok Trio Tablet ER helps you to lose water via urination. If, however, you lose too much fluid, you may become dehydrated. This will make you feel thirsty and make your skin look and feel dry. Let your doctor know if this happens, as your dose may need to be adjusted. Your doctor may get regular tests done to monitor the level of urea, creatinine, and potassium in your blood. It may cause a sudden drop in blood sodium level. Avoid a low sodium diet while you are taking this medication. Monitor your blood pressure regularly after starting treatment with Twinblok Trio Tablet ER, and notify your doctor if it does not lower down. Lifestyle changes like a low-fat diet, exercise, and not smoking may help this medicine work better.
