Snizid Expectorant is a combination medicine used in the treatment of cough with mucus. It thins mucus in the nose, windpipe and lungs making it easier to cough out. It also relieves allergic symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing and also relieves minor throat irritation. Snizid Expectorant is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you discontinue treatment prematurely, there is a risk of symptom recurrence and worsening of your condition. Let your doctor know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine. The most common side effects are nausea, dryness in mouth, diarrhea, stomach discomfort, vomiting, fatigue, headache, and rash. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any of these side effects. This medicine can also cause sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it can make sleepiness worse. Never support self-medication or recommend your medicine to another person. This makes breathing easy and reduces the frequency of coughing. Snizid Expectorant also relieves allergy symptoms like itchy or watery eyes, sneezing and runny nose. Apart from this, it produces a sensation of coolness and relieves minor throat irritation. Snizid Expectorant usually starts to work within a few minutes and the effects can last up to several hours. Along with medications, drink enough luke warm water and gargle with warm salt water to ease the symptoms.

Snizid Expectorant is a combination of four medicines: Ambroxol, Desloratadine, Guaifenesin and Menthol which relieve cough with mucus. Ambroxol is a mucolytic which thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out. Desloratidine is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Guaifenesin is an expectorant which works by decreasing the stickiness of airway secretions and helps in their removal from the airways. Menthol is an organic compound which produces a sensation of coolness and relieves minor throat irritation.

Pregnancy

Driving

If a dose of Snizid Expectorant is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.
Snizid Expectorant is prescribed to get relief from cough with mucus. Drink warm water to help loosen the congestion and lubricate your throat while you are taking this medication. Take exactly as directed by your doctor or on the label. Do not increase the dosage or take for longer than is recommended. Use a proper measuring cup or spoon to measure the dosage. If you are drowsy after taking Snizid Expectorant, you should not drive or operate any machinery. In general, most coughs do not last more than 2 weeks. If your cough does last longer than this then it's better to see your doctor. Inform your doctor if you have a history of stomach ulcers or asthma. Inform your doctor if you are taking any other medications, e.g., anti-depressants. Snizid Expectorant should not be given to kids.
