How Timolol works Timolol is a beta blocker that decreases the production of aqueous humor (the fluid in the eye), thereby lowering elevated eye pressure.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Timolol include burning eyes and stinging in the eyes.

Expert Advice

Timolol helps lower elevated intraocular pressure and reduces the risk of vision loss.
Apply pressure to the corner of the eye (near the nose) for approximately 1 minute immediately after instilling the drop.
Wait at least 5-10 minutes before administering the next medication in the same eye to prevent dilution.
Notify your doctor if you have lung or heart diseases, as Timolol may exacerbate these conditions.
