How it Works

How Bimatoprost and Timolol work: Bimatoprost and Timolol is a combination of two medicines: Bimatoprost and Timolol. Bimatoprost is a prostaglandin analogue, while Timolol is a beta blocker. They work by decreasing the production of aqueous humor (fluid in the eye), thereby lowering increased eye pressure.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Bimatoprost and Timolol include eye pain, conjunctival hyperemia, eye irritation, and eye discomfort.

Expert Advice

You have been prescribed Bimatoprost + Timolol to lower high intraocular pressure and reduce the risk of vision loss.
Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for approximately 1 minute immediately after instilling the drop.
If you wear soft contact lenses, remove them before applying these eye drops and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting your lenses.
Do not touch the tip of the dropper to any surface or to your eye to avoid contaminating the eye drops.
Short-term blurring of vision may occur when first using the drops; use caution before driving or operating machinery.
It may temporarily cause your eyelashes to grow longer, darker, and thicker; this effect is not harmful.
Long-term use may lead to brown pigmentation of the eye, which may be permanent but is not harmful.
Ensure to use the drops within 4 weeks of opening the bottle.
