It also blocks chemical messengers in the brain that are responsible for pain sensation. This helps to treat abdominal pain (or stomach pain) as well as cramps, bloating and discomfort. Take Ulpane 2.5 mg/5 mg/400 mg Tablet as prescribed to get maximum benefit. Eventually, it will help you to go about your daily activities more easily and have a more active and better quality of life. In Acidity Ulpane 2.5 mg/5 mg/400 mg Tablet relieves excessive acidity in your stomach which prevents heartburn, irritation, stomach pain, and indigestion. Usually, it is used along with other medicines for management of your condition. Take a fiber-rich diet, avoid oily or spicy food and drink plenty of fluids while taking it to make sure you stay hydrated.

Ulpane 2.5 mg/5 mg/400 mg Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Diazepam, Oxyphenonium and Magaldrate. Diazepam is a benzodiazepine. It works by increasing the action of a chemical messenger (GABA) which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain. Oxyphenonium is an anticholinergic which works by blocking the binding of the a chemical messenger (acetylcholine) to its receptor in nerve cells. This relaxes the smooth muscles in the digestive tract and decreases the spasms. Magaldrate is an inorganic salt that neutralises the excess acid in stomach.
Alcohol
Unsafe: Avoid consuming alcohol with Ulpane 2.5 mg/5 mg/400 mg Tablet as it is deemed unsafe.
Pregnancy
Seek medical advice from your doctor: Ulpane 2.5 mg/5 mg/400 mg Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Doctor consultation is advised.
Breast feeding
Seek medical advice from your doctor: Ulpane 2.5 mg/5 mg/400 mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby. Ulpane 2.5 mg/5 mg/400 mg Tablet should be used for short periods and sleepiness of the baby should be watched. The withdrawal of Ulpane 2.5 mg/5 mg/400 mg Tablet should be gradual.
Driving
Not Safe: Ulpane 2.5 mg/5 mg/400 mg Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive. Ulpane 2.5 mg/5 mg/400 mg Tablet can make you sleepy, forgetful, and have poor co-ordination. This may affect your ability to drive.
Kidney
Caution Advised: Ulpane 2.5 mg/5 mg/400 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Ulpane 2.5 mg/5 mg/400 mg Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised. Dose adjustment may be required if it is to be given for a long period
Liver
Seek medical advice from your doctor: There is limited information available on the use of Ulpane 2.5 mg/5 mg/400 mg Tablet in patients with liver disease. Doctor consultation is advised.
If a dose of Ulpane 2.5 mg/5 mg/400 mg Tablet is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.
Store in a cool and dry place, and keep the temperature below 30�C
You have been prescribed Ulpane 2.5 mg/5 mg/400 mg Tablet to get relief from abdominal pain and acidity. It should be used only for occasional relief from increased stomach acid. Do not take it for more than 2 weeks, unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor. Inform your doctor if you show signs of appendicitis or inflamed bowel (such as lower abdominal pain, cramping, bloating, nausea, vomiting). Avoid taking Ulpane 2.5 mg/5 mg/400 mg Tablet at least 2 hours before or after taking other medicines as it may interact with other medicines.
