Side Effects

Common side effects of Amlodipine and Chlorthalidone include glucose intolerance, sleepiness, ankle swelling, headache, flushing (a sense of warmth in the face, ears, neck, and trunk), tiredness, palpitations, nausea, increased blood uric acid levels, decreased potassium levels in the blood, and altered blood lipid levels.

Amlodipine + Chlorthalidone is effective in treating high blood pressure.
It also reduces the risk of stroke and heart attack.
Take the medication in the morning with breakfast to minimize nighttime urination.
It may cause dizziness or sleepiness; avoid driving or performing tasks that require concentration until you understand how it affects you.
You may experience lightheadedness or weakness, especially when standing up (orthostatic hypotension); rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down.
This medication may lead to dehydration; ensure you drink plenty of fluids.
Inform your doctor if you experience extreme thirst, muscle weakness, or a very dry mouth.
Your doctor may regularly monitor your blood pressure, kidney function, and the levels of electrolytes such as potassium in your blood while you are on this medication.
