In High blood pressure with high cholesterol Zivast L 10 mg/25 mg Tablet relaxes the blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily around your body. It also effectively reduces the high cholesterol levels in your body. Lowering the amount of cholesterol reduces the chances of heart diseases and managing the blood pressure reduces the risk of having a stroke, heart attack or kidney problems in future. This helps you remain healthier for longer. You do not usually feel any direct benefit from taking this medicine, but it works in the long term to keep you well. Take it regularly and make appropriate lifestyle changes (such as eating healthy and staying active) to maximize the effectiveness of this medicine. Keep taking it even if you feel well.
The majority of side effects typically do not necessitate medical intervention. and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Doctor consultation is advised if they persist or if you're worried about them.
Follow your doctor's guidance regarding the dose and duration of this medication. Ingest it without breaking or crushing. Do not chew, crush or break it. Zivast L 10 mg/25 mg Tablet can be taken it with or without food, although it's advisable to take it consistently at the same time.
Zivast L 10 mg/25 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Atorvastatin and Losartan which treat high blood pressure and cholesterol. Atorvastatin is a lipid-lowering medication (statin). It works by blocking an enzyme (HMG-Co A-reductase) that is required in the body to make cholesterol. It thus lowers "bad" cholesterol (LDL), triglycerides and raises "good" cholesterol (HDL). Losartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). It works by blocking the hormone angiotensin thereby relaxing blood vessels and lowering blood pressure.
Unsafe: Avoid consuming alcohol with Zivast L 10 mg/25 mg Tablet as it is deemed unsafe.
Not Safe: Zivast L 10 mg/25 mg Tablet is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy. Seek your doctor's advice as studies on pregnant women and animals have shown significant harmful effects to the developing baby.
Safe when prescribed by an expert: Zivast L 10 mg/25 mg Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Seek medical advice from your doctor: It is not known whether Zivast L 10 mg/25 mg Tablet alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.
Safe when prescribed by an expert: Zivast L 10 mg/25 mg Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Zivast L 10 mg/25 mg Tablet is recommended. However, talk to your doctor if you have any underlying kidney disease. Regular monitoring of blood pressure is recommended for better dose adjustment.
Caution Advised: Zivast L 10 mg/25 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Zivast L 10 mg/25 mg Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised. Use of Zivast L 10 mg/25 mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.
If a dose of Zivast L 10 mg/25 mg Tablet is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.
