Zivast L 10 mg/25 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Atorvastatin and Losartan which treat high blood pressure and cholesterol. Atorvastatin is a lipid-lowering medication (statin). It works by blocking an enzyme (HMG-Co A-reductase) that is required in the body to make cholesterol. It thus lowers "bad" cholesterol (LDL), triglycerides and raises "good" cholesterol (HDL). Losartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). It works by blocking the hormone angiotensin thereby relaxing blood vessels and lowering blood pressure.

Alcohol

Unsafe: Avoid consuming alcohol with Zivast L 10 mg/25 mg Tablet as it is deemed unsafe.

Pregnancy

Not Safe: Zivast L 10 mg/25 mg Tablet is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy. Seek your doctor's advice as studies on pregnant women and animals have shown significant harmful effects to the developing baby.

Breast feeding

Safe when prescribed by an expert: Zivast L 10 mg/25 mg Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

Driving

Kidney

If a dose of Zivast L 10 mg/25 mg Tablet is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.

Store in a cool and dry place, and keep the temperature below 30�C

Zivast L 10 mg/25 mg Tablet treats high blood pressure that is also associated with high cholesterol levels. Together they lower your risk of heart attack and stroke. Take it in addition to regular exercise and low-fat diet. It may cause dizziness. Get up slowly when rising from a sitting or lying position. It may cause the level of potassium in blood to go up. Avoid taking potassium supplements and potassium-rich foods such as banana and broccoli. Inform your doctor if you experience muscle symptoms (pain or weakness), particularly if you have fever, a sick feeling or dark urine. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning for pregnancy. Do not stop taking the medication suddenly without talking to your doctor.
