Bacterial infections
In Bacterial infections Virexim S 1000mg/500mg Injection contains two different medicines, Ceftriaxone and Sulbactum, that work together to kill the bacteria that cause infections. Ceftriaxone works by stopping the growth of bacteria. Sulbactam reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Ceftriaxone against bacteria. Virexim S 1000mg/500mg Injection can be used to treat many different bacterial infections such as ear, sinus, throat, lung, urinary tract, skin and soft tissues. This medicine usually makes you feel better within a few days, but you should continue taking it as prescribed even when you feel better to make sure that all bacteria are killed and do not become resistant.

Virexim S 1000mg/500mg Injection is a combination of two medicines: Ceftriaxone and Sulbactam. Ceftriaxone is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria. Sulbactam is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Ceftriaxone against bacteria.

Pregnancy
Safe when prescribed by an expert: Virexim S 1000mg/500mg Injection is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
Breast feeding
Caution Advised: Virexim S 1000mg/500mg Injection should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body.
Driving
Not Safe: Virexim S 1000mg/500mg Injection may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Kidney
Seek medical advice from your doctor: There is limited information available on the use of Virexim S 1000mg/500mg Injection in patients with kidney disease. Doctor consultation is advised.
Liver
Caution Advised: Virexim S 1000mg/500mg Injection should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment of Virexim S 1000mg/500mg Injection may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised. Dose adjustment of Virexim S 1000mg/500mg Injection is not recommended in patients with mild to moderate liver disease.

You have been prescribed this combination medicine to treat bacterial infections even if they have developed resistance.� Finish the prescribed course, even if you start to feel better. Stopping it early may make the infection come back and harder to treat. Diarrhea may occur as a side effect. Taking probiotics along with Virexim S 1000mg/500mg Injection may help. Talk to your doctor if you notice bloody stools or develop abdominal cramps. Stop taking Virexim S 1000mg/500mg Injection and inform your doctor immediately if you develop an itchy rash, swelling of the face, throat or tongue or breathing difficulties while taking it.
