Tonact Forte Tablet ER is a combination of two medicines: Atorvastatin and Vitamin B3(Nicotinic Acid) which treat high cholesterol. Atorvastatin is a lipid-lowering medication (statin). It works by blocking an enzyme (HMG-Co A-reductase) that is required in the body to make cholesterol. It thus lowers "bad" cholesterol (LDL), triglycerides and raises "good" cholesterol (HDL). Vitamin B3(Nicotinic Acid) is a form of vitamin B which further raises the levels of "good cholesterol" (HDL).
Unsafe: Avoid consuming alcohol with Tonact Forte Tablet ER as it is deemed unsafe.
Not Safe: Tonact Forte Tablet ER is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy. Seek your doctor's advice as studies on pregnant women and animals have shown significant harmful effects to the developing baby.
Safe when prescribed by an expert: Tonact Forte Tablet ER is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
SAFE - Tonact Forte Tablet ER does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Caution Advised: Tonact Forte Tablet ER should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Tonact Forte Tablet ER may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised.

Use of Tonact Forte Tablet ER is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease and active liver disease.
If a dose of Tonact Forte Tablet ER is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.
