Telista Plus 20 Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Telmisartan and Atorvastatin which treat high blood pressure and cholesterol. Telmisartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). It works by blocking the hormone angiotensin thereby relaxing blood vessels and lowering blood pressure. Atorvastatin is a lipid-lowering medication (statin). It works by blocking an enzyme (HMG-Co A-reductase) that is required in the body to make cholesterol. It thus lowers "bad" cholesterol (LDL), triglycerides and raises "good" cholesterol (HDL).

Alcohol

Unsafe: Avoid consuming alcohol with Telista Plus 20 Tablet as it is deemed unsafe.

Pregnancy

Not Safe: Telista Plus 20 Tablet is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy. Seek your doctor's advice as studies on pregnant women and animals have shown significant harmful effects to the developing baby.

Breast feeding

Safe when prescribed by an expert: Telista Plus 20 Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

Driving

Not Safe: Telista Plus 20 Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

Kidney

Safe when prescribed by an expert: Telista Plus 20 Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Telista Plus 20 Tablet is recommended. However, inform your doctor if you have any underlying kidney disease.

Liver

Caution Advised: Telista Plus 20 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Telista Plus 20 Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised. Use of Telista Plus 20 Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease and active liver disease.

If a dose of Telista Plus 20 Tablet is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.

Avoid taking potassium supplements and potassium-rich foods such as banana and broccoli. Inform your doctor if you experience muscle symptoms (pain or weakness), particularly if you have fever, a sick feeling or dark urine. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning for pregnancy. Do not stop taking the medication suddenly without talking to your doctor.
