In Diarrhea Diarrhea is an increase in the frequency of bowel movements or loose watery bowel movements. It can most commonly occur due to an infection of the digestive tract. Ofzer-LS Tablet helps to treat diarrhea that is caused due to bacteria or parasitic worm infections. Ofzer-LS Tablet also contains beneficial bacteria that protect the inner layers of your stomach and intestines. This medicine can relieve frequent loose motions and also help you to stay well by preventing them from coming back. You need to take this medicine regularly to get the most out of it and you should drink plenty of fluids while taking it to make sure you stay hydrated. In Dysentery Dysentery or amoebic dysentery is a parasitic infection of the intestines that occurs mostly due to intake of contaminated food or water. The symptoms include loose stools (diarrhea), stomach cramps and stomach pain. Ofzer-LS Tablet helps to treat this infection by killing the infection causing parasites. It relieves these symptoms and also helps you to stay well by preventing them from coming back. You need to take this medicine regularly to get the most out of it and you should drink plenty of fluids while taking it to make sure you stay hydrated.

Ofzer-LS Tablet is a combination of four medicines: Lactobacillus, Ofloxacin, Ornidazole and Saccharomyces boulardii. Ofloxacin is an antibiotic. It kills bacteria by preventing them from reproducing and repairing themselves. Ornidazole is also an antibiotic which kills the bacteria and other microorganisms by damaging the DNA. Together, they treat your infection effectively. Lactobacillus and Saccharomyces boulardii are live microorganisms which restore the balance of good bacteria in the intestine that may get upset with antibiotic use or due to intestinal infections.

Alcohol

Unsafe: Avoid consuming alcohol with Ofzer-LS Tablet as it is deemed unsafe.

Pregnancy

Seek medical advice from your doctor: Ofzer-LS Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Doctor consultation is advised.

Breast feeding

Seek medical advice from your doctor: Information regarding the use of Ofzer-LS Tablet during breastfeeding is not available. Doctor consultation is advised.

Driving

Not Safe: Ofzer-LS Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.

Kidney

Safe when prescribed by an expert: Ofzer-LS Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Ofzer-LS Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Doctor consultation is advised.

Liver

Caution Advised: Ofzer-LS Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Ofzer-LS Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised.

If a dose of Ofzer-LS Tablet is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.

Store in a cool and dry place, and keep the temperature below 30�C

You have been prescribed Ofzer-LS Tablet for the treatment of diarrhea and dysentery. Take it at least 2 hours after taking other medicines, as it may interfere with the absorption of other medicines. Diarrhea can cause water loss and electrolyte imbalance. Drink plenty of fluids especially ORS (oral rehydration solution) to help keep you hydrated. Consult your doctor if your symptoms last for more than 48 hours. Do not use Ofzer-LS Tablet if you have blood in your stool or if you are severely constipated.
