How Iverdel-Forte Injection works Iverdel-Forte Injection is a combination of two medicines: amikacin and cefepime. Amikacin is an antibiotic which stops bacterial growth by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Cefepime is also an antibiotic that works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body. Together, these medications eradicate the bacterial infection effectively.
Caution: It is important to consult your doctor regarding alcohol consumption while taking Iverdel-Forte Injection .
Iverdel-Forte Injection is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Doctor consultation is advised.
Iverdel-Forte Injection is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.Avoid prolonged use of Iverdel-Forte Injection, since it may have possible effects such as rash and diarrhea.
Iverdel-Forte Injection may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Iverdel-Forte Injection should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Iverdel-Forte Injection may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised.
Iverdel-Forte Injection is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Iverdel-Forte Injection may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
