• Inability to Sense Thirst: Patients who cannot perceive thirst or cannot respond to thirst by drinking water should not take this medication.

• Urinary Obstruction: If you cannot urinate at all, this medicine will not work and should not be used.

• Initial Dose: Usually 15mg once daily.

• Titration: After 24 hours, the doctor may increase the dose to 30mg or 60mg if sodium levels haven't improved sufficiently.
