How it works
HIPRES D 50MG/2.5MG/25MG CAPSULE is a combination of three medicines: Atenolol, amiloride and hydrochlorothiazide. They work by different mechanisms to provide better control of blood pressure when single or dual therapy is not effective. Atenolol is a beta blocker that works by slowing down the heart rate. Amiloride and hydrochlorothiazide are diuretics which remove extra water and certain electrolytes from the body through urine. Over time, hydrochlorothiazide also relaxes blood vessels but causes potassium loss. Amiloride is added as it conserves potassium thereby balancing its levels in the body.
Unsafe: Avoid consuming alcohol with HIPRES D 50MG/2.5MG/25MG CAPSULE as it is deemed unsafe.
Seek medical advice from your doctor: HIPRES D 50MG/2.5MG/25MG CAPSULE is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Doctor consultation is advised.
Seek medical advice from your doctor: HIPRES D 50MG/2.5MG/25MG CAPSULE is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Not Safe: HIPRES D 50MG/2.5MG/25MG CAPSULE may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Caution Advised: HIPRES D 50MG/2.5MG/25MG CAPSULE should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of HIPRES D 50MG/2.5MG/25MG CAPSULE may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised. Use of HIPRES D 50MG/2.5MG/25MG CAPSULE is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.

What if I forget to take it?
If a dose of HIPRES D 50MG/2.5MG/25MG CAPSULE is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.
