How it works
Migraine headaches are thought to result from the dilatation of blood vessels in the brain and the release of vasoactive and pro-inflammatory peptides (chemical messenger) from sensory nerve endings. Elipran 20 Tablet is a selective 5-hydroxytryptamine 1B/1D receptor agonist. It works by constricting (narrowing) these blood vessels and prevents the release of the chemical messenger in the nerve endings, thereby relieving the migraine headaches.
Unsafe: Avoid consuming alcohol with Elipran 20 Tablet as it is deemed unsafe.
Seek medical advice from your doctor: Elipran 20 Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Doctor consultation is advised.
Safe when prescribed by an expert: Elipran 20 Tablet is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby. Limited information indicates that Elipran 20 Tablet produces low levels in milk and would not be expected to cause any adverse effects in breastfed infants.
Not Safe: Elipran 20 Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Caution Advised: Elipran 20 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Elipran 20 Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised. Use of Elipran 20 Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.
