How it works How it works

Eleftha 150mg Injection is a recombinant Ig G1 monoclonal antibody. It works against the HER2 (human epidermal growth factor receptor protein) receptors which are responsible for the over-proliferation of cancer cells in breast cancer and stomach cancer cells. Heart investigations should be conducted at the start of treatment, then every 3 months during treatment, and every 6 months for 24 months after stopping Eleftha 150mg Injection. Patients with existing heart issues may need investigations every 12 weeks.
Eleftha 150mg Injection should be taken for 1 year or until disease recurrence in patients with early breast cancer, whichever comes first. Treatment should not exceed 1 year.
Eleftha 150mg Injection may negatively impact heart health when used with anthracycline anti-cancer medicines, so your doctor will monitor your heart health before and during treatment.
Serious side effects of Eleftha 150mg Injection include sore throat, fever, chills, excessive tiredness, pale skin, nosebleeds, unusual bruising or bleeding, stomach pain, seizures, hallucinations, muscle cramps, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, fatigue, rapid heartbeat, and changes in urine. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of these symptoms.
Fasting is not required before administering Eleftha 150mg Injection. It should be given under the supervision of a qualified healthcare professional experienced in cancer chemotherapy.
Women should use effective contraception during Eleftha 150mg Injection therapy and for 7 months after treatment before planning a pregnancy.
Eleftha 150mg Injection is not suitable for HER2 negative cancer patients, as it targets the HER2 protein found on HER2 positive cancer cells to inhibit their growth.
Eleftha 150mg Injection is available in two formulations: one for intravenous infusion and another for subcutaneous injection. Ensure the correct formulation is used as prescribed, as the intravenous formulation is not for subcutaneous use. Your doctor may switch between formulations if appropriate.
