In Hypertension (high blood pressure) Ciplar H 40 mg/25 mg Tablet relaxes the blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily around your body. It also eliminates excess water from the body and increases urine output. This lowers your blood pressure and reduces your risk of having a stroke, a heart attack, or kidney problems in the future. You do not usually feel any direct benefit from taking this medicine, but it works in the long term to keep you well. You should take it regularly as prescribed for this medicine to be most effective, even if you feel better.
The majority of side effects typically do not necessitate medical intervention. and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Doctor consultation is advised if they persist or if you're worried about them.
Follow your doctor's guidance regarding the dose and duration of this medication. Ingest it without breaking or crushing. Do not chew, crush or break it. Ciplar H 40 mg/25 mg Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.
Ciplar H 40 mg/25 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Propranolol and Hydrochlorothiazide. Propranolol is a beta blocker. It works by widening and relaxing the blood vessels, thereby lowering blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic which removes extra water and certain electrolytes from the body through urine. Over time, it also relaxes blood vessels and improves blood flow.
Unsafe: Avoid consuming alcohol with Ciplar H 40 mg/25 mg Tablet as it is deemed unsafe.
Seek medical advice from your doctor: Ciplar H 40 mg/25 mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Doctor consultation is advised.
Safe when prescribed by an expert: Ciplar H 40 mg/25 mg Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Not Safe: Ciplar H 40 mg/25 mg Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive. Ciplar H 40 mg/25 mg Tablet may cause visual disturbances, hallucinations, fatigue, mental confusion, dizziness or tiredness. This may affect your driving ability.
Caution Advised: Ciplar H 40 mg/25 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Ciplar H 40 mg/25 mg Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised. Use of Ciplar H 40 mg/25 mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.
Caution Advised: Ciplar H 40 mg/25 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Ciplar H 40 mg/25 mg Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised.
If a dose of Ciplar H 40 mg/25 mg Tablet is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.
