Hypertension (high blood pressure)

In Hypertension (high blood pressure) Ciplar H 40 mg/25 mg Tablet relaxes the blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily around your body. It also eliminates excess water from the body and increases urine output. This lowers your blood pressure and reduces your risk of having a stroke, a heart attack, or kidney problems in the future. You do not usually feel any direct benefit from taking this medicine, but it works in the long term to keep you well. You should take it regularly as prescribed for this medicine to be most effective, even if you feel better.

The majority of side effects typically do not necessitate medical intervention. and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Ciplar H 40 mg/25 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Propranolol and Hydrochlorothiazide. Propranolol is a beta blocker. It works by widening and relaxing the blood vessels, thereby lowering blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic which removes extra water and certain electrolytes from the body through urine. Over time, it also relaxes blood vessels and improves blood flow.

Alcohol

Unsafe: Avoid consuming alcohol with Ciplar H 40 mg/25 mg Tablet as it is deemed unsafe.

Pregnancy

Seek medical advice from your doctor: Ciplar H 40 mg/25 mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Breast feeding

Kidney

Caution Advised: Ciplar H 40 mg/25 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Ciplar H 40 mg/25 mg Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised. Use of Ciplar H 40 mg/25 mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.

Liver

Caution Advised: Ciplar H 40 mg/25 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Ciplar H 40 mg/25 mg Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised.

If a dose of Ciplar H 40 mg/25 mg Tablet is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.

Store in a cool and dry place, and keep the temperature below 30�C

Ciplar H 40 mg/25 mg Tablet is prescribed to reduce high blood pressure and the risk of future heart attack and stroke. It helps you to lose water via urination. If, however, you lose too much fluid, you may become dehydrated. This will make you feel thirsty and make your skin look and feel dry. Consult your doctor immediately. Monitor your blood pressure regularly after starting treatment, and notify your doctor if it does not lower down. Your doctor may get regular tests done to monitor the level of urea, creatinine, sodium, magnesium, and potassium in your blood. Avoid taking painkillers along with this medicine without consulting your doctor. Lifestyle changes like a healthy diet, exercise, and not smoking may help this medicine work better.
