It also neutralizes excessive acid in the stomach and relieves indigestion or heartburn. Averine R 40mg/150mg Tablet is taken without food, following the dosage and duration recommended by your doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you discontinue treatment prematurely, there is a risk of symptom recurrence and worsening of your condition. Averine R 40mg/150mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: drotaverine and ranitidine which relieves abdominal pain. Drotaverine is an anti-spasmodic medicine. It relieves spasms associated with smooth muscles. Ranitidine is an H2 blocker (type of antacid). It works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach which helps relieve acid-related indigestion and heartburn.
