In Treatment of Dryness in the mouth after radiotherapy of head and neck cancer : Amfosted 500 Injection is used to decrease dryness in the mouth caused by radiation treatment after surgery for head and neck cancer. It protects the kidneys from harmful effects of the chemotherapy medicine cisplatin in patients that receive this medication for the treatment of ovarian cancer. It is given as an injection by a doctor or nurse and should not be self-administered.
Side effects of Amfosted Injection The majority of side effects typically do not necessitate medical intervention. and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Doctor consultation is advised if they persist or if you�re worried about them Common side effects of Amfosted Nausea Vomiting Decreased blood pressure Hiccup Sleepiness Dizziness Flushing (sense of warmth in the face, ears, neck and trunk)Fever Chills
How to use Amfosted Injection Your doctor or nurse will give you this medicine. Kindly do not self administer.
How Amfosted Injection works Amfosted 500 Injection works by removing free radical, harmful elements produced by cisplatin (a medicine used to treat cancer) or radiation therapy in tissues.
Consult your Doctor: Please consult your doctor regarding the safety of consuming alcohol with Amfosted 500 Injection . Experts have not found evidence of alcohol impairing the effectiveness of the medicine.
Amfosted 500 Injection may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Doctor consultation is advised.
Amfosted 500 Injection is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
It is not known whether Amfosted 500 Injection alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.
Amfosted 500 Injection is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Amfosted 500 Injection may not be needed in these patients. Doctor consultation is advised.
There is limited information available on the use of Amfosted 500 Injection in patients with liver disease. Doctor consultation is advised.
