In Migraine Metopar Tablet is a combination of medicines that treat and prevent migraine headaches. It changes the electrical activity in the brain, blocks chemicals responsible for pain sensation, and also blocks signals that cause nausea/vomiting associated with migraines. By preventing and reducing the frequency of migraine headaches, it can help you carry out your daily activities and have a better quality of life.
The majority of side effects typically do not necessitate medical intervention. and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Doctor consultation is advised if they persist or if you're worried about them.
Follow your doctor's guidance regarding the dose and duration of this medication. Ingest it without breaking or crushing. Do not chew, crush or break it. Metopar Tablet can be taken it with or without food, although it's advisable to take it consistently at the same time.
Metopar Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Metoclopramide and Paracetamol. Metoclopramide is a prokinetic which works on the region in the brain that controls vomiting. It also increases the movement of the stomach and intestines, allowing food to move more easily through the stomach. This prevents nausea and vomiting caused due to migraine. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and an anti-pyretic (fever reducer) which blocks the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and fever associated with migraine.
Unsafe: Avoid consuming alcohol with Metopar Tablet as it is deemed unsafe.
Safe when prescribed by an expert: Metopar Tablet is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
Seek medical advice from your doctor: Metopar Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Not Safe: Metopar Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive. Metopar Tablet may cause drowsiness, dizziness, dyskinesia and dystonias which could affect the vision and may interfere with the ability to drive.
Caution Advised: Metopar Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Metopar Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised.
Safe when prescribed by an expert: Metopar Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Metopar Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Doctor consultation is advised.
If a dose of Metopar Tablet is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.
