In Blood cancer : Blood cancer, also called leukemia, is a cancer of the blood-forming tissues that decreases the body's ability to fight infection. It is used as a 'conditioning' treatment to get rid of the bone marrow and make room for the transplanted bone marrow cells, which can then produce healthy blood cells. It is given with another cancer medicine called fludarabine in adults and children requiring a bone marrow transplant. You should avoid drinking alcohol while having this treatment and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
