In Wet age-related macular degeneration Macula is the part of the retina responsible for central vision. Wet age-related macular degeneration is an eye disorder that causes blurred vision or a blind spot in your visual field due to abnormal blood vessels that leak fluid or blood into the macula. This leads to vision problems. Visudyne Injection helps prevent leakage of such abnormal blood vessels and therefore prevents vision loss. It is given as an injection by a doctor or nurse and should not be self-administered.
The majority of side effects typically do not necessitate medical intervention. and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Doctor consultation is advised if they persist or if you're worried about them.

Visudyne Injection accumulates in the abnormal blood vessels and, when stimulated by non-thermal red light in the presence of oxygen, produces highly reactive short-lived singlet oxygen and other reactive oxygen radicals, resulting in local damage to the endothelium and blockage of the vessels.
Caution: It is important to consult your doctor regarding alcohol consumption while taking Visudyne Injection .

Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Doctor consultation is advised.
Seek medical advice from your doctor: Visudyne Injection is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Not Safe: Visudyne Injection may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive. It may cause visual disturbances such as abnormal vision, vision decrease, or visual field defects that may interfere with your ability to drive or use machines.
Seek medical advice from your doctor: There is limited information available on the use of Visudyne Injection in patients with kidney disease. Doctor consultation is advised.
Caution Advised: Visudyne Injection should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Visudyne Injection may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised.
