In Prevention of organ rejection in transplant patients Tacliment Eye Ointment belongs to a group of medicines known as immunosuppressants. Organ rejection happens when your immune system treats the new organ as an invader and attacks it. This medicine weakens your immune response (which usually fights infection) and reduces the chance of your body attacking the transplanted organ. It is used in combination with other medicines to make it much more likely that your transplant operation will be successful. You should continue taking the medicine and should not stop it until your doctor says so.

How to use
This medicine is for external use only. Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the tube close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the tube and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid.
How it works
Tacliment Eye Ointment is an immunomodulator. It works by suppressing the action of a protein (calcineurin). This decreases the production of inflammatory chemicals by certain immune cells (T lymphocytes). This relieves allergic eye symptoms.
