Saflab Kit is a combination of four medicines: Secnidazole, Fluconazole, Azithromycin and Lactobacillus. Secnidazole is an antibiotic which kills the bacteria and other microorganisms that cause infections by damaging the DNA. Fluconazole is an antifungal which works by preventing the formation of the fungal protective covering which is essential for the survival of the fungi. Azithromycin is also an antibiotic which stops bacterial growth by inhibiting synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Lactobacillus is a probiotic. It works by restoring the balance of good bacteria in the intestine that may get upset after antibiotic use or due to intestinal infections. Together, they eradicate your infection effectively.

Alcohol

Unsafe: It is unsafe to consume alcohol while taking Saflab Kit , as it may lead to symptoms such as flushing, increased heart rate, nausea, thirst, chest pain, and low blood pressure, known as a Disulfiram reaction.

Pregnancy

Seek medical advice from your doctor: Saflab Kit is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Doctor consultation is advised.

Breast feeding

Caution Advised: Saflab Kit should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body.

Driving

Kidney

Not Safe: Saflab Kit is probably unsafe to use in patients with kidney disease and should be avoided. Doctor consultation is advised. Caution to be advised in patients with impaired renal function.

Liver

Safe when prescribed by an expert: Saflab Kit is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Saflab Kit may not be needed in these patients. Doctor consultation is advised.

If a dose of Saflab Kit is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.

Store in a cool and dry place, and keep the temperature below 30�C

Saflab Kit is prescribed for the syndromic treatment of vaginal discharge. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Stopping it early may make the infection come back and harder to treat. It is advisable to drink plenty of fluids and a healthy diet while taking the medicine. Discontinue Saflab Kit and inform your doctor immediately if you get a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or have difficulty in breathing. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding.
