Retipose 0.025% Cream works by binding to nuclear retinoic acid receptors (RARs), which regulate gene expression involved in skin cell growth, differentiation, and turnover. Through this action, it normalises the process of keratinisation in the follicular epithelium, reducing the abnormal buildup of dead skin cells and sebum that leads to comedone (blackhead and whitehead) formation. This helps prevent new acne lesions and supports the resolution of existing ones.

By increasing epidermal cell turnover and promoting shedding of cornified cells, Retipose 0.025% Cream helps keep pores clear and reduces microcomedone formation, which is the earliest stage of acne development. It also has effects on dermal remodelling, including stimulation of collagen production and reduction of collagen breakdown, which contributes to gradual improvement in skin texture and signs of photoaging such as fine lines and uneven pigmentation.

Retipose 0.025% Cream (Tretinoin) works by interacting with retinoic acid receptors (RAR) in the nucleus of skin cells. This interaction modulates the transcription of genes involved in cell growth and differentiation. It decreases the "stickiness" of the cells in the follicular lining, preventing them from clumping together and forming a plug (comedo). Additionally, it increases the mitotic activity of follicular epithelial cells, which pushes out existing debris. In the deeper layers of the skin, it inhibits the enzymes that break down collagen while simultaneously promoting new collagen synthesis, which helps improve the structural integrity of the skin

• Be patient; acne may appear to get slightly worse during the first few weeks (purging) before it begins to improve.

• “Less is more.” A pea-sized amount is enough for the entire face; using more may increase irritation without improving results.

• If your skin becomes excessively dry or sore, your doctor may suggest applying a moisturiser before or after the Tretinoin.

• Avoid using other irritating skin products, such as those containing high concentrations of alcohol, astringents, or exfoliating acids (like Salicylic Acid), unless directed by your doctor.

• Do not apply to sunburnt skin or open wounds.

• Store at room temperature in a cool, dry place.

• Keep the tube tightly closed when not in use.

• Protect from light and heat (retinoids are light-sensitive).

• General Diet (NO INTERACTION): There are no known interactions between specific foods and topical Tretinoin. However, avoid excessive intake of Vitamin A supplements unless advised by a doctor.

• Benzoyl Peroxide (CAUTION): If used together, they may cause excessive dryness. Some formulations of Tretinoin can be deactivated by Benzoyl Peroxide; use them at different times of the day (e.g., one in the morning and one at night).

• Photosensitising Medications (MODERATE): Using Tretinoin with other drugs that increase sun sensitivity (such as certain antibiotics or diuretics) can further increase the risk of severe sunburn.

• Eczema/Rosacea (CAUTION): Patients with highly reactive skin conditions may experience severe irritation; Tretinoin should be used with extreme caution and under close medical supervision.

• Sunburn (SEVERE): Do not use on skin that is currently sunburnt; wait until the skin has fully recovered.

Using more than the recommended amount of Retipose 0.025% Cream (Tretinoin) on the skin is unlikely to cause serious harm, but it can increase skin irritation. This may lead to redness, dryness, peeling, burning, or increased sensitivity.

If excessive irritation occurs, the medication should be stopped temporarily until symptoms improve. If accidental ingestion or severe reaction is suspected, seek prompt medical advice.

If you miss an application, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule the following evening. Do not apply a double amount to make up for a missed dose.
