In Abdominal pain Protobid Plus Tablet effectively relieves sudden muscle spasms or contractions in the stomach and intestine (gut), thereby relaxing the muscles and improving movement of food. It also blocks chemical messengers in the brain that are responsible for pain sensation. This helps to treat abdominal pain (or stomach pain) as well as cramps, bloating and discomfort. Take Protobid Plus Tablet as prescribed to get maximum benefit. Eventually, it will help you to go about your daily activities more easily and have a more active and better quality of life. In Diarrhea Diarrhea is an increase in the frequency of bowel movements or loose watery bowel movements. It can most commonly occur due to an infection of the digestive tract. Protobid Plus Tablet helps to treat diarrhea that is caused due to bacteria or parasitic worm infections. This medicine can relieve frequent loose motions and also help you to stay well by preventing them from coming back. You need to take this medicine regularly to get the most out of it and you should drink plenty of fluids while taking it to make sure you stay hydrated.

Protobid Plus Tablet is a combination of four medicines: methylpolysiloxane, dicyclomine, diloxanide and tinidazole. Methylpolysiloxane is a defoaming medicine which relieves bloating. Dicyclomine is an antispasmodic which works by relaxing the muscles in your stomach and gut (intestine). It stops sudden muscle contractions (spasms). In doing this, it relieves cramps, pain, bloating, and discomfort. Diloxanide is combined with tinidazole in case of severe intestinal infections. Tinidazole is an antibiotic which kills bacteria and other infectious microorganisms by damaging the DNA.

Alcohol

Unsafe: It is unsafe to consume alcohol while taking Protobid Plus Tablet , as it may lead to symptoms such as flushing, increased heart rate, nausea, thirst, chest pain, and low blood pressure, known as a Disulfiram reaction.

Pregnancy

Seek medical advice from your doctor: Protobid Plus Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Doctor consultation is advised.

Breast feeding

Driving

Not Safe: Protobid Plus Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive. Protobid Plus Tablet may make you feel drowsy or gives you problems with coordination or sensation (e.g. numbness or weakness). This may affect your driving ability.

Kidney

Caution Advised: Protobid Plus Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Protobid Plus Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised.

Liver

Safe when prescribed by an expert: Protobid Plus Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Protobid Plus Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Doctor consultation is advised.

If a dose of Protobid Plus Tablet is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.

Store in a cool and dry place, and keep the temperature below 30�C

You have been prescribed Protobid Plus Tablet for the treatment of diarrhea and to get relief from abdominal pain. It is best to take it when the first sign of pain occurs. Diarrhea can cause water loss and electrolyte imbalance. Drink plenty of fluids especially ORS (oral rehydration solution) to help keep you hydrated. Consult your doctor if your diarrhea lasts for more than 48 hours even after taking Protobid Plus Tablet. Stick to simple meals and avoid spicy rich food in order to avoid feeling sick (nausea). Dry mouth may occur as a side effect. Frequent mouth rinses, good oral hygiene, increased water intake and sugarless candy may help. Do not take any indigestion remedies (antacids) within two hours of taking this medicine.
