How it works
How Metrofyr Plus Tablet works Metrofyr Plus 200mg/10mg/1.5mg Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Metronidazole, Dicyclomine and Loperamide which treat diarrhea. Metronidazole is an antibiotic which works by stopping the growth of bacteria and other diarrhea-causing microorganisms. Dicyclomine is an anticholinergic which relaxes the muscles in the stomach and gut (intestine). It stops sudden muscle contractions (spasms). By doing this, it relieves cramps, pain, bloating, and discomfort. Loperamide is an opioid agonist which works by decreasing contraction of the intestines making the stools more solid and less frequent.
Unsafe: It is unsafe to consume alcohol while taking Metrofyr Plus 200mg/10mg/1.5mg Tablet , as it may lead to symptoms such as flushing, increased heart rate, nausea, thirst, chest pain, and low blood pressure, known as a Disulfiram reaction.
Metrofyr Plus 200mg/10mg/1.5mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby.
