If you discontinue treatment prematurely, there is a risk of symptom recurrence and worsening of your condition. The most common side effects are nausea, headache, dryness in mouth, metallic taste, constipation, blurred vision, weakness, and nervousness. You need to take this medicine regularly to get the most out of it and you should drink plenty of fluids while taking it to make sure you stay hydrated.

Furatop Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Metronidazole, Dicyclomine and Loperamide which treat diarrhea. Metronidazole is an antibiotic which works by stopping the growth of bacteria and other diarrhea-causing microorganisms. Dicyclomine is an anticholinergic which relaxes the muscles in the stomach and gut (intestine). It stops sudden muscle contractions (spasms). By doing this, it relieves cramps, pain, bloating, and discomfort. Loperamide is an opioid agonist which works by decreasing contraction of the intestines making the stools more solid and less frequent.
Alcohol
Unsafe: It is unsafe to consume alcohol while taking Furatop Tablet , as it may lead to symptoms such as flushing, increased heart rate, nausea, thirst, chest pain, and low blood pressure, known as a Disulfiram reaction.
Pregnancy
Seek medical advice from your doctor: Furatop Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Doctor consultation is advised.
Breast feeding
Seek medical advice from your doctor: Furatop Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Driving
Not Safe: Furatop Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive. Furatop Tablet may make you feel sleepy, dizzy, confused. You may have temporary eyesight problems (such as blurred or double vision) which may affect your ability to drive.
Kidney
Caution Advised: Furatop Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Furatop Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised.
Liver
Caution Advised: Furatop Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Furatop Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised.
If a dose of Furatop Tablet is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.
Store in a cool and dry place, and keep the temperature below 30�C
You have been prescribed Furatop Tablet for the treatment of diarrhea. Diarrhea can cause water loss and electrolyte imbalance. Drink plenty of fluids especially ORS (oral rehydration solution) to help keep you hydrated. Do not drink alcohol while taking and till 4 days after taking this medication. This is because drinking alcohol with Furatop Tablet is likely to make you feel very sick (nauseated) and cause other unpleasant effects, such as hot flushes, headaches, and palpitations (fast heartbeat). Consult your doctor if your diarrhea lasts for more than 48 hours.
