Ginflox Oral Suspension is a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic containing of Ofloxacin. It is primarily used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections affecting the urinary tract, respiratory system, skin, and soft tissues. It is also highly effective against certain sexually transmitted infections and chronic bacterial prostatitis. Inhibiting the essential enzymes that bacteria need to repair and replicate their DNA rapidly stops the spread of infection. This 200mg formulation is well-absorbed by the body, allowing the medicine to reach deep into the tissues to eliminate stubborn bacteria that may be resistant to older classes of antibiotics.

Composition and Mechanism: Each tablet contains of Ofloxacin. It works by targeting two specific bacterial enzymes: DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV. By blocking these enzymes, Ofloxacin causes the bacterial DNA to become fragmented, leading to the immediate death of the bacterial cell. • Dairy Products: Calcium-rich foods (milk, cheese) can block the absorption of Ofloxacin.

• Caffeine: Ofloxacin slows down the clearance of caffeine, making you feel more "jittery" or anxious.

Antacids (Aluminium/Magnesium)

• Diabetes: Can cause blood sugar to drop too low (hypoglycaemia). Monitor levels closely.
• Kidney Disease: The dose may need to be lowered if your kidneys are not filtering well.
• Myasthenia Gravis: Can significantly worsen muscle weakness and breathing problems.

The dosage of Ginflox Oral Suspension is determined by the site of infection. For Uncomplicated UTIs, the standard dose is 200mg twice daily for 3 to 7 days.

For Prostatitis or Chronic Bronchitis, the course is usually longer, often 200mg to 400mg twice daily for 10 to 14 days. Always take the tablet with a full 250ml glass of water. It is best to take your doses at 12-hour intervals (e.g., 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM) to ensure the bacteria are constantly exposed to the medicine. Follow the exact duration written on your prescription, even if your symptoms disappear.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one. Do not take a double 200mg dose, as this increases the risk of side effects like dizziness or heart rhythm changes.
