In Treatment of Dry cough A dry cough is a cough where no phlegm or mucus is produced. It may cause a tickling sensation or itching in the throat. Flucoril Syrup suppresses severe dry cough and gives your child relief from an itchy throat. Along with taking this medicine, gargling with warm salt water and having ginger or honey can help your child manage the dry cough.
The majority of side effects typically do not necessitate medical intervention. and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Doctor consultation is advised if they persist or if you're worried about them.
How can I give Flucoril Syrup to my child?Follow your doctor's guidance regarding the dose and duration of this medication. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Flucoril Syrup can be taken it with or without food, although it's advisable to take it consistently at the same time.
Flucoril Syrup is a combination of three medicines: Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide, Phenylephrine, and Paracetamol which relieve dry cough. Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide is a cough suppressant that relieves cough by reducing the activity of the cough center in the brain. Phenylephrine is a decongestant that narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and antipyretic (fever reducer). It works by blocking the production of chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that transmit pain signals and induce fever.
Safe when prescribed by an expert: Flucoril Syrup is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Flucoril Syrup is recommended. However, prolonged use without consulting your child€™s doctor may impact kidney function in your child. Discuss with your child€™s doctor thoroughly before giving this medicine to your child.
Caution Advised: Flucoril Syrup should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Flucoril Syrup may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised.
Remain calm. Unless your child�s doctor has provided specific instructions, administer the missed dose once recalled. If it's nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed one. Adhere to the prescribed dosing schedule and avoid administering a double dose to compensate for the missed one.
