How to use Faminex Tablet Follow your doctor's guidance regarding the dose and duration of this medication. Ingest it without breaking or crushing. Do not chew, crush or break it. Faminex Kid 150 mg/100 mg Tablet is to be taken empty stomach. Avoid Faminex Kid 150 mg/100 mg Tablet with tyramine-rich food such as cheese, smoked fish, meats and some types of beer.
How it works
How Faminex Tablet works Faminex Kid 150 mg/100 mg Tablet is a combination of two antibiotics: Rifampicin and Isoniazid, which treats tuberculosis (TB). Rifampicin works by inactivating a bacterial enzyme (RNA-polymerase) which is required by TB bacteria to make essential proteins and to reproduce. Isoniazid prevents these bacteria from forming their own protective covering. Together, they kill the bacteria and eradicate the infection.
Unsafe: It is unsafe to consume alcohol while taking Faminex Kid 150 mg/100 mg Tablet , as it may lead to symptoms such as flushing, increased heart rate, nausea, thirst, chest pain, and low blood pressure, known as a Disulfiram reaction.
Faminex Kid 150 mg/100 mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Doctor consultation is advised.
Faminex Kid 150 mg/100 mg Tablet is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.
Faminex Kid 150 mg/100 mg Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.Faminex Kid 150 mg/100 mg Tablet can cause fits, mental health problems and optic neuritis (inflammation of the optic nerve that may cause loss of vision.) This may affect your driving ability.
Faminex Kid 150 mg/100 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Faminex Kid 150 mg/100 mg Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised.

What if I forget to take it?
If a dose of Faminex Kid 150 mg/100 mg Tablet is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.
