In Sneezing and runny nose due to allergies Eltrifed 5 mg/60 mg Tablet is used to treat an itchy, stuffy or runny nose, sneezing, or other symptoms caused by seasonal hay fever (allergic rhinitis). It works by reducing certain substances in the body called histamines that are responsible for the allergic symptoms. It also reduces swelling inside the nose and thus decreases symptoms such as stuffy nose. This helps in easy breathing and makes you feel better. Drink plenty of liquids, including chicken soup to feel better.

The majority of side effects typically do not necessitate medical intervention. and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Doctor consultation is advised if they persist or if you're worried about them. ['Headache, Nausea, Vomiting, Tiredness, Restlessness, Sleepiness']

Eltrifed 5 mg/60 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Cetirizine and Pseudoephedrine, which relieves sneezing and runny nose caused due to allergies. Cetirizine is an antiallergic which blocks the action of a chemical messenger (histamine) responsible for runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Pseudoephedrine is a decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels providing temporary relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose.

Alcohol

Unsafe: Avoid consuming alcohol with Eltrifed 5 mg/60 mg Tablet as it is deemed unsafe.

Pregnancy

Breast feeding

Driving

Kidney

Caution Advised: Eltrifed 5 mg/60 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Eltrifed 5 mg/60 mg Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised. Use of Eltrifed 5 mg/60 mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.

Liver

Safe when prescribed by an expert: Eltrifed 5 mg/60 mg Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Eltrifed 5 mg/60 mg Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Doctor consultation is advised.

If a dose of Eltrifed 5 mg/60 mg Tablet is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.

Store in a cool and dry place, and keep the temperature below 30�C

You have been prescribed Eltrifed 5 mg/60 mg Tablet for the treatment of allergy symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes etc. Stop taking Eltrifed 5 mg/60 mg Tablet at least three days before taking an allergy test as it can affect the test results. Do not discontinue use without consulting your doctor, even if you feel better. If you drink alcohol while you are taking Eltrifed 5 mg/60 mg Tablet, be aware of its effects on you and do not drink more than moderate amounts. Keep sipping water or try chewing sugar-free gum to get relief from dryness in the mouth.
