Eldic Plus 50 325mg Tablet 10s is a combination medicine containing Diclofenac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that reduces pain and swelling, and Paracetamol (325 mg), an analgesic (pain-reliever) and antipyretic (fever-reducer). It is prescribed for adults to treat pain, inflammation, and fever in conditions such as arthritis, muscle or joint pain, dental pain, back pain, menstrual cramps, and pain after surgery. The two medicines in Eldic Plus 50 325mg Tablet 10s work together to give better pain relief than if used alone. It should only be taken with a doctor’s guidance and for a short time, to lower the chance of side effects.
Eldic Plus 50 325mg Tablet 10s is a fixed‑dose combination medicine that contains two active ingredients: Diclofenac, a non‑steroidal anti‑inflammatory drug (NSAID), and Paracetamol, an analgesic (pain-reliever) and antipyretic (fever-reducer). Together, they are used to relieve pain, inflammation, and fever associated with conditions such as arthritis, muscle and joint pain, backache, dental pain, menstrual cramps, and post‑operative discomfort.
Diclofenac works by blocking cyclo‑oxygenase (COX) enzymes, which are responsible for producing prostaglandins (chemical messengers that cause pain, swelling, and inflammation). By reducing prostaglandin levels, Diclofenac helps ease stiffness and discomfort. Paracetamol complements this effect by acting centrally in the brain to lower pain perception and reduce fever, with minimal stomach irritation.
This combination provides enhanced pain relief compared to either medicine alone, offering faster and more effective symptom control. Eldic Plus 50 325mg Tablet 10s is generally prescribed for short‑term use and should always be taken under medical supervision, as prolonged or excessive use may increase the risk of side effects such as stomach irritation, liver damage, or kidney problems.
Eldic Plus 50 325mg Tablet 10s is used to treat different types of pain, swelling, and fever. Doctors may prescribe it for:
Eldic Plus 50 325mg Tablet 10s may cause side effects, as with any medicine. Most are mild and short‑lived, but a few can be serious and may need prompt medical attention.
Pregnancy
CONSULT DOCTOR. Avoid use, especially in the last trimester (after 20 weeks) due to the risk of fetal kidney problems and premature closure of the ductus arteriosus (a fetal blood vessel). Use early in pregnancy only if clearly necessary and directed by a physician.
Breastfeeding
CONSULT DOCTOR. Both Diclofenac and Paracetamol pass into breast milk in small amounts. While generally considered safe for short-term use, consultation with a healthcare provider is mandatory.
Alcohol
AVOID. Concurrent alcohol use drastically increases the risk of severe liver damage (Paracetamol component) and raises the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding (Diclofenac component).
Driving
CAUTION. This medicine may cause side effects like dizziness, drowsiness, or visual disturbances. If you experience these effects, avoid driving or operating heavy machinery.
Diet & Lifestyle
Minimise dietary sodium intake if you have hypertension, as Diclofenac can cause fluid retention. Maintain adequate hydration.
The standard recommended daily dose is one tablet (Diclofenac 50 mg + Paracetamol 325 mg) taken 2 to 3 times a day.
An overdose of Eldic Plus 50 325mg Tablet 10s is a medical emergency. The most critical risk is severe hepatotoxicity (liver failure) due to the Paracetamol component, which may not show symptoms for 24 to 48 hours. Other signs of overdose may include severe nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, drowsiness, and difficulty breathing. Immediate medical attention is required, even if you feel well. Treatment often involves administering N-acetylcysteine (NAC) to protect the liver.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it is already almost time for your next scheduled dose. In that case, skip the missed dose and resume your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up. Maintain a minimum gap between doses as advised by your doctor.
