Dry cough

In Dry cough A dry cough is a cough where no phlegm or mucus is produced. It may cause a tickling sensation or itching in the throat and may be due to cold, flu, allergies or throat irritants. Alkof LS Syrup suppresses severe dry cough and gives you relief from an itchy throat. Apart from this, it also reduces symptoms of allergy like watery eyes, sneezing and runny nose. Along with taking Alkof LS Syrup, gargling with warm salt water and having ginger or honey can help you manage dry cough.

The majority of side effects typically do not necessitate medical intervention. and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant that relieves cough by reducing the activity of cough centre in the brain. Phenylephrine is a decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose.

Alcohol

Pregnancy

Seek medical advice from your doctor: Alkof LS Syrup may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Breast feeding

Not Safe: Alkof LS Syrup is unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Data suggests that the drug may cause toxicity to the baby.

Driving

Not Safe: Alkof LS Syrup may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.

Kidney

Safe when prescribed by an expert: Alkof LS Syrup is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Alkof LS Syrup may not be needed in these patients. Doctor consultation is advised.

Liver

Not Safe: Alkof LS Syrup is probably unsafe to use in patients with liver disease and should be avoided. Doctor consultation is advised.

If a dose of Alkof-Ls Syp 100ml is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.

Store in a cool and dry place, and keep the temperature below 30�C

You have been prescribed Alkof LS Syrup for the treatment of asthma. It does not work right away and should not be used to relieve sudden breathing problems. Always keep a fast-acting (rescue) inhaler with you. If at any time your breathing gets worse, please contact your doctor or nurse for advice straightaway. Inform your doctor if you have heart problems, high blood pressure or diabetes. If you are due to have an operation or any dental treatment, tell the person carrying out the treatment which medicines you are taking, as some anesthetics can interfere with Alkof LS Syrup. Do not smoke. Smoking causes irritation and damage to the lungs and will make your condition worse. Try to keep your regular appointments with your doctor. This is so your doctor can review your condition on a regular basis.
