In Treatment of Paracetamol toxicity : Acumyst Injection is an antidote medicine that prevents serious side effects if a person has taken more than the normal or recommended amount of a medicine called paracetamol which leads to an overdose. Initially, there may be mild gastrointestinal symptoms like nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, irritability, etc. But, if left untreated, paracetamol overdose may cause serious liver damage, which may even lead to liver failure. Rarely, an excessive overdose may lead to a coma. It is given as an injection by a doctor or nurse and should not be self-administered. Follow your doctor�s instructions carefully to get the most benefit from this medication.

How Acumyst Injection works Acumyst Injection is an antidote for paracetamol poisoning. It works by increasing the level of glutathione, an antioxidant that neutralises the toxic products of paracetamol.
Safe: No harmful side effects are associated with consuming alcohol alongside Acumyst Injection
Acumyst Injection is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
Acumyst Injection is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Acumyst Injection does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Acumyst Injection is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Acumyst Injection may not be needed in these patients. Doctor consultation is advised.
Acumyst Injection is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Acumyst Injection may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
If a dose of Acumyst Injection is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.
