How it works
Zortan AM 50 mg/5 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Losartan and Amlodipine which lower blood pressure effectively. Losartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) and Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker (CCB). They work by relaxing the blood vessels and making the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body.
Unsafe: Avoid consuming alcohol with Zortan AM 50 mg/5 mg Tablet as it is deemed unsafe.
Seek medical advice from your doctor: Zortan AM 50 mg/5 mg Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Doctor consultation is advised.
Safe when prescribed by an expert: Zortan AM 50 mg/5 mg Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

Caution Advised: Zortan AM 50 mg/5 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Zortan AM 50 mg/5 mg Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised. Zortan AM 50 mg/5 mg Tablet is started at a lower dose in patients with liver disease and further increased slowly with careful monitoring.
What if I forget to take it?
If a dose of Zortan AM 50 mg/5 mg Tablet is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.
