Telekast A Tablet PR helps prevent and treat asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD). It may also help relieve allergy symptoms such as runny and stuffy nose, sneezing, watery eyes, congestion, or stuffiness. It helps relax the muscles of the air passages thereby making it easier to breathe. Telekast A Tablet PR is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you discontinue treatment prematurely, there is a risk of symptom recurrence and worsening of your condition. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine. The most common side effects are vomiting, upset stomach, heartburn, stomach pain, rash, itching, breathing difficulty, nasal inflammation, and flu-like symptoms. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any of these side effects. This medicine may also cause dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it can worsen your sleepiness. Before taking it, you should tell your doctor if you have any kidney or liver diseases so that your doctor can prescribe a suitable dose for you. You should also tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding.

It works by relaxing the muscles of these airways. This makes it easier for air to get in and out. This medicine also loosens thick mucus, making it easier to cough out. It will relieve symptoms such as tightness in your chest, shortness of breath, wheezing, and coughing and help you carry out your daily activities more easily. Telekast A Tablet PR usually starts to work within a few minutes and the effects can last up to several hours. Take it as prescribed by the doctor. Do not stop using it unless you are advised to by your doctor. In Treatment of Sneezing and runny nose due to allergies Telekast A Tablet PR provides relief from symptoms such as blocked or runny nose, sneezing, and itchy or watery eyes. It rarely has any serious side effects and you may only need to take it on days you have symptoms. If you are taking it to prevent getting symptoms you should use it regularly to get the most benefit.

How it works

Telekast A Tablet PR is a combination of two medicines: Acebrophylline and montelukast. Acebrophylline is a mucolytic. It thins and loosens mucus (phlegm) making it easier to cough out. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist. It works by blocking the action of leukotriene, a chemical messenger. This reduces inflammation in the airways and nose to prevent asthma and relieve symptoms of allergies.
