In Irritable bowel syndrome Irritable bowel syndrome is a chronic (long-term) inflammatory disease of the large intestine (colon) that usually needs long-term management. This can lead to bleeding, frequent diarrhea, bloating, flatulence, cramps, and stomach pain. Spasmolar Tablet relaxes the muscles in your stomach and gut (intestine) and relieves these symptoms effectively. Usually, it is used along with other medicines for the management of your condition. Continue taking it for as long as the doctor may advise you to. Take a fiber-rich diet, avoid oily or spicy food and drink plenty of fluids while taking it to make sure you stay hydrated.

The majority of side effects typically do not necessitate medical intervention. and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Follow your doctor's guidance regarding the dose and duration of this medication. Ingest it without breaking or crushing. Do not chew, crush or break it. Spasmolar Tablet is to be taken with food.

Spasmolar Tablet is a combination of four medicines: dicyclomine, clidinium, dimethicone and paracetamol. Dicyclomine and clidinium are antispasmodics which work by relaxing the muscles in your stomach and gut (intestine). They stop sudden muscle contractions (spasms). By doing this, they relieve cramps, pain, bloating, and discomfort. Dimethicone is as an anti-foaming agent. It breaks down the gas bubbles inside the stomach and allows easy passage of the gas. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and anti-pyretic (fever reducer) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause fever and pain.

Alcohol

Unsafe: Avoid consuming alcohol with Spasmolar Tablet as it is deemed unsafe.

Pregnancy

Seek medical advice from your doctor: Spasmolar Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Doctor consultation is advised.

Breast feeding

Seek medical advice from your doctor: Information regarding the use of Spasmolar Tablet during breastfeeding is not available. Doctor consultation is advised.

Driving

Seek medical advice from your doctor: It is not known whether Spasmolar Tablet alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.

Kidney

Caution Advised: Spasmolar Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Spasmolar Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised.

Liver

Caution Advised: Spasmolar Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Spasmolar Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised. However, the use of Spasmolar Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease and active liver disease.

If a dose of Spasmolar Tablet is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.

Store in a cool and dry place, and keep the temperature below 30�C

Spasmolar Tablet helps relieve lower tummy (abdominal) cramps and pain associated with irritable bowel syndrome. Inform your doctor if you have an enlarged prostate gland, glaucoma, or trouble passing urine. If you are 65 or older, use Spasmolar Tablet with care. You could have more side effects. If you develop any new symptoms, or if your symptoms get worse, make an appointment to see your doctor for further advice.
